Not at all! Pack 165 welcomes boys and girls of all faiths and from any school, as long as they meet the Cub Scouts age requirements.

Cub Scouting is an affordable way for children to enjoy outdoor adventures, hands-on activities, community service, and lasting friendships. Fees and prices are subject to change.

• Annual Registration / Membership: $109*

• Uniform: Prices can be found here. The pack also has a uniform exchange for gently-used uniforms.

*Annual registration / membership fees are set by Scouting America's National Council and Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council.
NOTE: There are additional costs for non-mandatory special activities for those choosing to participate.

Pack meetings are generally held on the first or second Friday evening of each month during the school year in the Parish Hall at St. Victor Church, 3108 Sierra Road in San José. Den meeting schedules are set by each den leader in coordination with den families.

Pack meetings are generally one hour, and often followed by a potluck meal.

We encourage Scouts to do their best to attend den and pack meetings, but we understand that conflicts happen. If your Scout misses a meeting, contact the den leader for help completing any missed activities or requirements.

Regular attendance helps Scouts stay connected with their den and continue progressing toward their next rank.

No. Scouting welcomes families from all backgrounds, faith traditions, and belief systems. “Duty to God” remains part of the Scout Oath because Scouting encourages young people to reflect on values, purpose, gratitude, and their responsibility to something greater than themselves. Each family may guide that understanding according to its own beliefs and traditions. Note that membership requires agreement with Scouting America’s Declaration of Religious Principle and bylaws.

Yes! Each year, Pack 165 families are asked to participate in our annual popcorn fundraiser, which runs from August through November. Similar to Girl Scout cookie sales, Scouts and their families sell popcorn to friends, family, neighbors, and members of the community.

Popcorn sales are an important part of keeping Cub Scouting affordable and accessible. Proceeds help fund Pack 165 activities, events, supplies, and adventures throughout the year—helping us keep costs as low as possible for all families. Plus, it’s a fun way for Scouts to build confidence, practice communication skills, and work together toward a shared goal!

Yes, yes, YES! 🙌 We’d love your help! Pack 165 is powered by amazing parent and community volunteers! There are lots of ways to get involved—from becoming a Den Leader to helping organize some of our favorite events, like the Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold Banquet, popcorn fundraiser, campouts, and more. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there’s a place for you. Many hands make for a stronger Pack—and more fun for our Scouts!
